The monastery is part of the contemporary world in which we live, and we try to witness to what is best in it.  In order to share the fruit of our lives of prayer we utilize the gifts of modern technology and are united with all of those who also know its frustrations.  The ability to communicate almost instantly with people across the globe contributes greatly to bonds of friendship and support so needed in a world divided by misunderstanding and violence.  We spread the message of gospel peace and reconciliation with all the technological systems our friends and benefactors have helped us put in place. Also, articles and books share the ministry of the word and the fruit of our lived experience with those inside and beyond our Carmelite communities.  We work at being  “wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”

we work with computers . . .

and cell phones:

. . . but our Sister Joan, author of two books reflecting on her Carmelite experience:
"Growing Free" and
"The River Runs Free"
still prefers answering the correspondence by hand, whenever possible.
