Dear Friends,
In compliance with the recommendations of Bishop Calvo and our local and national leaders, due to the COVID-19 outbreak we are suspending all public worship services in our chapel until further notice. This includes our weekday and Saturday 4pm Mass, the Contemplative Prayer Group and the Young Adult Prayer Group. We make this decision in an abundance of care for all of you, our beloved extended community, as well as for our own community.
We invite you to join us in prayer during this time of uncertainty, trusting in God’s ever-abiding love for us. We believe the trial we are passing through holds the potential for good in slowing down the pace of life and uniting our world in prayer.
During this interim when we are apart we will send periodic updates and share spiritual resources to enrich your prayer life during this Lenten season.
- Every Sunday Channel 8 (KOLO) broadcasts the Mass at 9am. This is a wonderful way to ease the burden of ‘social distancing’ while uniting in prayer with the worshipping community.
- To support our prayer during this challenging time, Give Us This Day has made available at no charge a daigital file of their periodical, which includes daily Mass texts. Visit GUTD.net and select “Digital” in the upper right of the screen.
- In case you’re a night owl, here’s a link to a live feed of the Vatican TV service. Keep in mind Pope Francis’ daily Mass airs at midnight Pacific Standard time!
“This is a time to unite as a community, come to each other’s aid.
Help each other, dig really deep, find your best inner self,
and pull out all the compassion, and gratitude and kindness you can.”
– San Mateo County Health Officer Dr. Scott Morrow
